Man About Town checks in with the singer-songwriter ahead of The Fashion Awards red carpet to talk menswear, personal style, and working with fashion designer Willy Chavarria.
For Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Lunay, working with Willy Chavarria on projects ranging from runway shows to red carpets allows him to be his “strongest, most authentic” version of himself.
The musician forms part of Chavarria’s world, where fashion narratives are told through casting centered on personal stories and authenticity. In June Spring/Summer 2026, Lunay walked the designer’s runway show in Paris, where a catwalk prelude paid tribute to the citizens detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the US.
This week, he was back working with the designer again, for The Fashion Awards in London, where the duo worked on a floor-length olive coat, and black shirt and trousers combination for the event. Man About Town caught up with Lunay ahead of the red carpet to talk fashion, personal style, and collaborating with Chavarria. Scroll on to read all about it.

Can you talk us through your outfit for the red carpet tonight?
A head-to-toe Willy look. The olive-green touch elevated me and gave me the confidence to kill it on the carpet.
What is your favourite part of the look?
My favourite part of the look was that it covered me from head to toe in that classic London style.
How do you approach dressing for an event like the Fashion Awards?
I like to focus on details that elevate the entire look. For me, a pair of gloves can completely transform the way you feel and carry yourself, so I always look for pieces that bring that sense of elegance and intention.

What part of attending The Fashion Awards are you most excited about?
Honestly, just being surrounded by creativity and coming as Willy’s guest is such an honour. This is where the best in fashion come together, and I love being inspired. It’s also a chance to connect with designers, artists, and people who are pushing the culture forward.
How was it working with Willy Chavarria? What was the process like?
Collaborating with Willy is always a thrill. This year alone, I walked in his Paris Fashion Week show and wore one of his custom looks. His talent lies not just in design, but in the way he intuitively moulds his aesthetic to the individuality of each person. Every time we work together, I walk away feeling like the strongest, most authentic version of myself.

Can you sum up the feeling of wearing Willy Chavarria in your own words?
I feel blessed to represent the brand of a friend I admire – something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid. Today we’re making it happen, and I will be forever grateful to Willy for opening the doors to this family, and to Rimas and my label family who give everything so that I can shine.
How would you describe your personal style, and does it change at all when it comes to dressing for red carpets?
Modern, youthful, with some classic touches. For red carpets I elevate it a bit, but I never step away from who I am. It’s just a more polished version of my everyday self.
Who are your style icons, and why?
Ozuna is one of my influences when it comes to fashion, he’s a friend I respect and admire deeply. Maluma is another one of my references; I feel he has a special touch in his style and versatility that I really identify with.
