What’s Good This Week?

Demna’s Gucci is here, Carhartt WIP link-up with Solovair, there’s a new architecture-inspired Jacques Marie Mage collection, and loads more that you need on your radar.

Demna’s vision for Gucci has landed

Last week, newly-installed Gucci Creative Director Demna unveiled his vision for the house. Not via a fashion show as you might expect, but with a film. Starring Edward Norton, Elliot Page alongside other fashion stars like Alex Consani, Kendall Jenner, and Demi Moore. This week, we took a look at the collection which sees the brand’s trademark horsebit applied to denim and leather jackets and used as a handle on unstructured duffles, loafers revamped with a flat-sole and square toe, slouchy yet straight-fitting tailoring (in a move away from the XXL cuts seen during the designer’s time at Balenciaga) and the revived ‘GG’ belt.

Carhartt WIP and Solovair team up

It’s getting colder and the elements are harder to predict. So it might be time to get yourself a solid pair of leather shoes. That’s something British shoemaker Solovair does really well, with more than 100 years in the game. And now, it has teamed up with Carhartt WIP to dress the classic three eye Gibson in black high-shine leather, as well as in Carhartt WIP’s signature Hamilton brown. In addition to the two lace-up styles, there’s a chilled-out monk strap option in brown suede. These are available now online and in select Carhartt WIP stores.

Jacques Marie Mage drops frames, inspired by architecture

Your favourite celebrity’s favourite eyewear brand just dropped a new collection. That’s Jacques Marie Mage, if you weren’t familiar, aka the maker of very sleek, handcrafted frames that release in small numbers. Now, it has revived the Kyosho collection, inspired by architect and theorist Kisho Kurowaka, a leader of the Metabolist movement, which saw architecture as a living organism rather than being fixed. This appears in the Kyosho collection through a pair of 1960s-inspired aviators crafted from plant-based acetate, available in Black, Beluga, Etna and Teak, with custom shield lenses spanning Jet Bronze, Gradient, Serpent, and Khaki. Nicholas Alexander Chavez unveils new Jacquemus x Nike collaboration

Jacquemus and Nike collabs usually do two things: deliver a fashion-y take on a classic Nike sneaker and drop a super hyped campaign in the process. This time around, it was the turn of Monsters actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez who unveiled the all new Nike and Jacquemus Moon shoe (a running sneaker designed by Nike Co-Founder Bill Bowerman in 1971) via a series of killer black and white shots. It’s super slimmed down, taking the retro runner to near ballet-ready proportions, and lands in black, ‘Off Noir’, ‘Alabaster’, and ‘University Red’ colourways.  And given the current appetite for low-profile sneakers, we can’t imagine they’ll stick around for long. The collection will be released on October 6 via the Nike SNKRS app

Daniel Simmons delivers menswear staples for winter

Big coats, quality knits, and a solid pair of black trousers; it’s the stuff of menswear perma-gold and exactly what Daniel Simmons has delivered with its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection. With a colour palette spanning tonal greys, blacks, and beige and an attention to cut that sees coats cut go big and jumpers slightly cropped, Daniel Simmons has effectively dropped the cheat code for that low-effort, big win vibe that screams ‘I own a Wassily chair’. Chanel’s latest fragrance touches down in New York

What were Christopher Briney, Daniel Caesar, Evan Mock, and Miles Caton all doing in one place last week? They were celebrating the launch of Bleu De Chanel L’Exclusif in New York, with a huge party thrown by the maison. As for the fragrance, it’s the latest men’s scent from Chanel under Perfume Creator Olivier Polge. And if you’re wondering what that smells like, it’s smokey, leathery and woody – all the good stuff.

Oakley channels nature into its Latitude line

Even old Oakley designs look like they’ve been plucked straight from the future. So unsurprisingly, when it drops new, performance-focused gear it’s the stuff of space-age fantasy. Take the label’s new Latitude line, which draws from both nature and outdoor technology, like parachutes and jellyfish. What does this look like: modular, weather-ready pieces like the Latitude Soar Parka and puffer sci-fi Oakley Plantaris sunglasses, and Meridian Low boots. Basically, this is gorp-core from the future. And you can pick it up here
