Menswear Line Or Not, Chanel Is For The Guys, Too

The luxury label might not do menswear officially. But that doesn’t mean guys can’t join the party.

Last night in New York, A$AP Rocky pulled up to The Maison’s Métiers d’Art show rocking a wool collarless jacket. It was structured, oversized, frayed at the hems and pockets, and in-line with the rapper’s trademark mix of classic tailoring, work and streetwear. But the outfit wasn’t a custom look made for the newly appointed brand ambassador. It was pulled from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2026 runway show (look 42, in case you were wondering).

Yes, technically he’s wearing womenswear. But he’s sized up and made it his own. It also helps that Coco Chanel’s legendary tweed jackets are inspired by men’s sport coats, which gives them inherent menswear appeal.

A$AP Rocky isn’t the first to incorporate Chanel’s women’s pieces into his wardrobe. Pedro Pascal wore a shrunken knit and leather bag to the brand’s SS26 show, Kendrick Lamar fronted an eyewear campaign for the brand earlier this year, and high-profile fashion guys have been drawn to the rarity of owning a Chanel jacket in a harder-to-get bigger size.

So while Chanel might not officially do menswear, that doesn’t mean guys aren’t invited to the party.
