All The Menswear Hits From The Venice Film Festival 2026

Words by

Naturally, the world’s oldest cinematic celebration draws in a flock of esteemed actors. With that comes a swarm of notable fashion moments. Here is our pick of the best from this year’s event.

The 83rd International Venice Film Festival is coming to a close. After 11 days, Italy’s floating city has delivered its fair share of high-wattage moments. Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine catapulted into the Oscars race, bagging a 14-minute standing ovation. We also saw Liam and Noel Gallagher back on the red carpet for the premiere of Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, the documentary charting the brothers return for a run of blockbuster concerts last year by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

Of course, when an event bottles up this much starpower and unleashes it in a little over a week, the menswear is fairly potent, too. This year, it has spanned the whole gamut of the spectrum. Jonathan Bailey, Nicholas Galitzine, and Owen Thiele recruited the divine, easy-going mastery of Giorgio Armani for the event, while John Malkovich showed the full scale of his fashion guy credentials in a collar-sprawling ruff courtesy of Jonathan Anderson’s Dior.

But if you really want to see the enchantment Venice Film Festival has over its guests – either by the fact that it is the oldest film festival in the world, or with the help of its formal dress code for red carpets – look no further than Liam Gallagher. The Oasis documentary screening saw him leave his trademark high-end technical outerwear at home in favour of a custom-made loose-fitting suit, courtesy of London tailoring House Casely-Hayford. Now how’s that for some magic?

Anyway, as the festival comes to close, scroll on to take a look back at our pick of the event’s biggest menswear moments.
