This TAG Heuer Connected Watch Is Putting The Miles In With New Balance

The Swiss watchmaker has given its Connected smartwatch line a serious upgrade and tapped New Balance for a high-tech, high-energy collaboration in the process.

TAG Heuer has turned up the pace with its latest Connected Calibre E5, dropping a speedy collaboration with New Balance. So in the era of menswear-ified running, where some athletes are fiending over gear with the attention of a clued-up streetwear head, this might be the Strava kudos-scoring addition your kit needs.

With a decade in the smartwatch game, TAG Heuer’s fifth generation Connected watch goes the extra mile. The Calibre E5 is powered by TAG Heuer OS, a user experience and interface that has been designed and configured entirely in-house to make the user experience as chill and streamlined as your Sunday easy run. On your wrist, it can track your heart rate, calories, steps, sleep (coming with a future update in the coming months), blood oxygen saturation, breathing rate, and comes with a compass, barometer and accelerometer. All of that is housed within a 40mm sandblasted titanium case, and comes on a rubber New Balance branded strap with a DLC pin buckle.

That’s the technical stuff. But there’s more to it. Just like in the menswear world, your watch is the finishing touch for your fit. And it’s a great way to score some added cachet, if that’s your thing. And with the Connected Calibre E5, TAG Heuer is showing its commitment to the running watch game by improving users’ ability to track performance and recovery metrics and introducing its own interface.

Couple all of that with more than 160 years of Swiss watchmaking expertise, and you’re left with a running watch that scores big in the looks department, too.

The TAG Heuer Connected E5 New Balance edition is available now.
