The affable British triple threat talks to us about Northern Soul, Valley Girl and why he loves putting on a costume! Whitehouse is perhaps most recognisable for appearing in the raunchy BBC period drama Poldark, as well as for starring opposite Vanessa Hudgens in Netflix’s 2019 festive romp, The Knight Before Christmas. We caught up with the actor and musician as he gears up for Amazon Prime’s Daisy Jones & the Six, the riotous story of a rock band in 1970s LA. Whitehouse will appear alongside Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse and Riley Keough, and the series will be released on Prime Video later this year.
Whitehouse is also set to lead the cast of Valley Girl, a brand-new musical adaptation of the 1983 classic, which originally starred Nicolas Cage. The actor will also star in The Happy Worker, a twisted, David Lynch exec-produced drama set in a utopian Cold War commune. The series is directed by Duwayne Dunham, whose credits include Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi and Blue Velvet.
