Ke Huy Quan Covers Man About Town Spring/Summer 2025

 “I went to film school [in the late 90s] and then I was very lucky to work with some great filmmakers, behind the camera with an eye toward directing. But what I didn't know at that time was I was also watching great actors work on the craft from the sideline. It was like a front row seat in the best acting class. That's what kept the acting bug alive for me and before I knew it, that bug – even though I buried it for many years – slowly climbed its way up to the surface.” 

It’s rare to find a career trajectory as serpentine as Ke Huy Quan’s. Charming audiences with childhood turns in 80s classics Indiana Jones and The Goonies, he faded from view by the mid 90s to pursue action choreography. By the 00s, he was embarking on academic study of his craft with a goal of settling behind the lens. Life has a tendency to come full circle, however, and with his 2022 Oscar-winning turn in Everything Everywhere All At Once, Quan made a monumental return to film’s foreground. It’s quite the story, but luckily Stanley Tucci – the 53-year-old’s co-star in his latest project, action adventure The Electric State – is on hand to document it. Covering our Spring/Summer 2025 issue, Quan talks him through his sprawling journey to global acclaim, their shared joy in fight scenes, their serendipitous first meeting in the gym and, of course, cooking.
