I thought I sawNikolaj Coster-Waldau walking in New York last summer. I was a tourist and it was hot, and New York is big, so I was lost. I spent most of the day squinting at my phone and squinting at very tall shiny buildings (if you’re ever in New York, be sure to check out the tall shiny buildings, they’re fabulous).

Jamie is perhaps one of the most popular and most lovingly moulded characters in Thrones.

when Nikolaj wandered into my field of squinting that day in New York, I was dumbfounded and excited.

Yet, at some point, whilst my eyes were travelling between phone andsaidbuildings, they caught sight of Nikolaj. Household names and faces take us off-guard when we seem them in the street and few actors can claim as much right to the title of “household name” as thosewho have broughtHBO’s staggeringly successfulGame of Thrones to our screens since 2011.
