As always, the Dior Men’s Summer 2025 collection was one for the books — and a particularly exciting one for cat lovers and art enthusiasts alike. Paying tribute to South African potter Hylton Nel, Creative Director Kim Jones looked to his groundbreaking collection of work, pulling from the motifs, methods, and stylistic design choices that define the renowned artist. Bringing a sense of craftsmanship into Dior’s classic couture-leaning ready-to-wear collections, Jones presented sculptural silhouettes, playful prints, and ceramic buttons and details.
Walking between oversized cat sculptures, the models shrunk in size, commanding a closer look amongst the captivating art. Luckily, there was so much to catch the eye. Denim jackets layered over blazers, oversized trousers tactfully wrapped around clogs, tailored coats with animal buttons, and nuanced interpretations of three-piece suiting created a feeling of avant garde, yet relaxed, workwear. In the models’ hands, bags of canvas or leather and miniature cat sculptures made their way down the runway.
“The artisans’ skill, intent, and pride in their work unites all,” the House of Dior shared. And at the mergence of ideas between Kim Jones and Hylton Nel, something truly special was born.
